A wedding tends to bring out the diva in most of us. And rightfully so I say as we don’t have a wedding every day! But that doesn’t mean you must go broke in the process. Even for those of us who are not that crafty, a little research and some advice from friends or family members is all you really need. Many of us think centerpieces have to be floral and floral arranging is what causes the panic. A good centerpiece can still be floral, but with options.
For example, an excellent way to save money is to consider buying less expensive flowers, such as Hydrangeas. They are very pretty and very large so you don’t need as many. You can use them as a filler and simply place a few more expensive flowers throughout.
Also certain flowers in certain colors may be more expensive. Consider getting them in the cheaper colors and then spray painting them. There are plenty of online sites that will instruct you on how to do that and it is very simple.
A centerpiece may also be non floral. Consider mirrors placed on the table as a base. Mirrors make everything sparkle and look bigger. A well placed candle or vase of varying heights and you are done. You can glue mirrors in the shape of a box for even more height if you like. Maybe simply lay a flower or two around the candles or vase. Filling the vase with colored water and a single flower floating on top is a beautiful way to save money.
Finally, there are tons of sites that can assist with inspiration and even products you can buy. Save on Crafts and Pinterest are two of my favorites. Don’t rule out FB to have your friends start flooding you with ideas and photos. I guarantee you with just a minimal effort, you will have tons of ideas in no time.
